Samedi
Universally reviled as the most disgusting of all kindred, the Samedi are those who wear the face of death itself. Cursed in a similar manner as the Nosferatu, each Samedi appears as a corpse in an advanced stage of decay. As they age chunks of flesh have a habit of falling off, and the stench of rotting flesh surrounds them like a dense fog. Rumours are far and wide that the Samedi may be an offshoot of the Cappadocians. Disciplines: Fortitude, Obfuscate, Thanatosis Nickname: Ghedi, Zombies |
Dark Ages
N/A The Samedi did not yet exist or make themselves known during the dark ages.
Modern day
The clan is as
mysterious as it is small, but regardless many make names for
themselves as potent assassins and bodyguards. Sure a Samedi cant match
the power of the Assamites, but they proved themselves potent forces
nonetheless. Especially the unique powers they have over death itself
make them feared opponents, and the fact few vampires have ever heard
of them make them even more risky opponents.
Embraces
Much like the Cappadocians, the Samedi only embrace those who are fascinated by death or the act of dyeing.
Havens
The Samedi prefer
graveyards, mausoleums and haunted houses. Anywhere mortals are
unlikely to visit. Some Samedi also exchange boons with Nosferatu in
exchange for shelter, thusly can sometimes be found living together.
As a clan
The Samedi have little
to no organisation amongst eachother, each Samedi is quite solitary in
his/her own right and prefers isolation over any large gathering of
fellow Samedi. Every once in a while, a gathering may be held of around
3 Samedi, though these are never significant or long. At least, all
this can be said from someone on the outside. In reality, the Samedi
maintain connections with all other Samedi, all in a combined effort to
stay alive. Survival is the greatest boon of the Samedi.
Strength
The strength of clan
Samedi lies in their mastery over death disciplines. More specificly,
they have the unique discipline of Thanatosis, which allows them great
power over death and decomposition, as well as their own undead shells.
Weakness
Beyond any doubt, the
weakness of clan Samedi lies in their bodies. Constantly in a state of
decay, with skin falling off and open wounds oozing fluids of varied
colours, not to mention various facial features rotted off, makes the
Samedi the ugly amongst the ugliest. As with the Nosferatu, the Samedi
break the Masquerade simply by showing their face to mortals, and are
virtually incapable of interacting with mortals.
