Baali

Of all vampire clans, none practise as vile a sorcery as the Baali. Not even the most tyrannical of Lasombra bishops or psychotic Malkavians are capable of matching the sheer evil that the Baali represent. Hunted nearly to extinction for their demon-worshipping, the Baali seek to summon ancient demons into the world, to turn the whole world into a living hell, with the Baali as supreme rulers ofcourse.  The clan specializes in seething madness and carnage and feeding the resulting chaos to their demon lords.

Dark ages
Even during the dark ages, the Baali were practically extinct. Fearing the prosecution of the Assamites and the Salubri to the far east and the Setites to the south, the Baali had been cornered, and swept from the board like chess pieces. The remaining Baali hide far away from the kindred and kine who scorn them, and make the tiniest of sacrifises to their dark gods in hopes of becoming a force once more.

Modern Days
Today, the Baali are granted much more freedom then before. With the Assamites more concerned with diablarie and the Salubri gone, they can find refuge far and wide in the dark corners of the world, often posing as Caitiff. From there they gather small covens around themselves while practising infernalist rituals far away from prying eyes.

Embraces
The Baali only embrace those who are intelligent and driven. Most who are embraced will even had interest in the occult during their mortal lives.

The embracing ritual of the Baali is one of their most disturbing rituals. A Baali will capture his prey and bring him to a site he/she has prepared. There will be a large pit, filled with dozens of decomposing bodies. The Baali drains it’s victim to near death, and tosses them into the pit. In just 1 of the corpses they hid their blood inside a heart. If the prey manages to find the heart before they die and drink the blood, they are considered worthy of becoming Baali. Ironically, this makes the Baali the only clan that gives their victim the choice of becoming a vampire or choosing to die.

Havens
The Baali seek havens as far away from both human and vampire civilization as possible. They know what will happen if their existence is revealed, and will not let it get that far.

As a clan
As a clan the Baali have little organization, a large gathering has not been held for millennia. Instead, the clan function by “flocks”, each representing about 3 to 6 Baali kindred who practise the dark rites of the clan. The strongest sorcerer is the leader of the flock.

Strengths
The strength of the Baali clan lies in it’s infernalist discipline of Daimoinon, which allows them to commune with demons, summon dark powers or cast curses. All who use Daimoinon become corrupted by it’s powers, the Baali themselves are no exeption. However, one of the most terrifying aspects of clan Baali is the fact that they can actually embrace vampires of other clans into their hold, making none beyond their corruptive grasp.

Weakness
More so then any other kindred, the staunch faith of mortals can harm the Baali. Even a simple unblessed relic of faith is capable of wounding a Baali.
