Quietus
The unique discipline of the assamites, Quietus focusses on poison and vitae control. The Assamites rely on this discipline to ensure their handywork is done efficiently, but isn't discovered. (To learn Quietus, one must drink the blood of an Assamite, first).
Powers:
1 - Silence of Death:
This power creates an aura of silence around the user, within no sound may occur. (Costs a bloodpoint. This power lasts for an hour, the radius of the power is 20 feet around the user. Within the radius, no sound may occur, an explosive could trigger or a woman could scream at the top of her lungs but no one would hear it. However, thos inside the radius can still hear what happends outside of the radius.There are also rumours of those skilled Assamites that are capable of binding this power to a location rather then to the user self).
2 - Scorpion's Touch:
Create a poison of your own blood that severely weakens those it comes into contact with. The many different ways Assamites have found to apply this poison to their victims has made this power especially feared among the enemies of the Assamites. (To create the poison, the user must spend at least one point of blood and roll Willpower against diff 6, each success increases the duration of the poison. (see chart below) If successful, the poison is created and when it enters a victim's bloodstream will remove a number of points from that person's Stamina equal to the number of bloodpoints spend to create the poison. An Assamite can never spend more bloodpoints on a single application of Scorpions Touch then a number equalling his/her Stamina. An Assamite is always immune to his/her own poison, but not to the poison of other Assamites. Upon being effected by the poison, the victim may roll Stamina + Fortitude at diff 6 to resist the poison, with each success removing one from the successes of the user. An Assamite may apply the poison in a variety of different ways, even skin contact alone is enough to poison the victim. The user also lubricate a bladed melee weapon with it, (never a ranged weapon, as the poison drips off during flight) or pool the poison in his/her hands and apply it to a victim's skin. The user may even fleck his/her lips with it for the "Kiss of Death". The user may also spit it at a victim, for this the user must make a Stamina + Athletics roll at diff 6, and may not spend more then 2 bloodpoints on this power, the user can spit a maximum distance of 10 feet for each point of Strength and Potence the user has.
Success duration chart:
1 Success: The poison's effect lasts for a turn
2 Successes: The poison's effect lasts for an hour.
3 Successes: The poison's effect lasts for a day.
4 Successes: The poison's effect lasts for a month.
5 Successes: The poison's effect is permanent, though the lost Stamina may be returned with experience.
If a mortal loses all points of Stamina through this power, he/she becomes terminally ill and his/her body loses all immunity to disease. The mortal will die if he/she does not manage to regain at least one point of Stamina before a year has passed. A vampire that loses all points in Stamina enters torpor and only awakens if he/she manages to regain a point of Stamina. If the user is permanently reduced to zero Stamina through this power, he/she will only be able to recover from torpor through mystical means.)
- Body Wrack: This power creates a poison of the user's blood that causes incredible pain on any victim that comes into contact with it. (The user spends a single bloodpoint in order to create the poison, and this poison must then enter the victim's bloodstream (see Scorpion's Touch for discriptions on how it may enter a victim's Bloodstream) Once the poison reaches a victim's bloodstream, the user rolls Stamina + Empathy against a difficulty of the victim's Stamina + Self-Control. The victim then loses a number of dices equal to the number of successes, but the victim may resist the effects of Body Wrack similiary to the effects of wound penalties seperate from wound penalties the victim already suffers from. Effect lasts for a night and multiple uses do not stack, but overwrite eachother (alternative power).
3 - Dagon's Call:
Cause severe harm to anyone you touched within the last hour. By merely concentrating, the user can cause the victim's bloodvessels to rupture, flooding the lungs. This can even damage kindred as their veins constrict their body. (The user must have touched the victim within the last hour. The user may then, at any time from any place, spend a Willpower point to activate Dagon's Call. The user and victim then make a resisted Stamina roll, both with a difficulty of the opponent's Willpower rating. Every success the user gets deals one healthlevel of Lethal damage on the victim. So long as the hour has not yet completely passed the user may continue to spend Willpower points to attack his/her victim).
4 - Baal's Caress:
Turn your blood into a foul corrosive substance, which eats away flesh both living and undead like an acid. Applied to a bladed weapon, this substance greatly increases it's lethality. It may even be applied to claws or fingernails. (The weapon coated must be bladed and will deal Aggravated damage instead of Lethal damage. Whenever the weapon hits, irrigardless of wether it deals damage or not, one point of blood worth of coating is lost. Depending on the weapon used, a weapon may only hold a maximum number of bloodpoints, a sword may hold several points, fingernails only one).
- Crawling Death: A power that turns one's blood into a virulent poison that directly attacks the victim's internal organs and bloodvessels, dealing great damage as well as destroying the victim's blood from the inside out. (The vampire spends a bloodpoint and uses valid means to get it into the victim's bloodstream (see Scorpions Touch for examples). Upon entering the victim's bloodstream, the user rolls Stamina + Empathy at a difficulty of the victim's Stamina + Self-Control. Successes are equally distributed into dealing healthlevels of damage (the type of damage is to be determined by the Storyteller) and bloodpoints destroyed. The victim may soak as normal. If for example, the user scores 5 successes, and 2 of these are soaked, the victim loses 1 healthlevel to damage and 2 bloodpoints. The user may continue attacking the victim in this manner untill the poison is expelled from the victim's body, the victim loses all bloodpoints or the victim dies. If however the victim soaks all of the user's successes in a single turn, Crawling Death is expelled from his/her body ( alternative power)).
5 - Taste of Death:
The user spits caustic blood at the victim, which eats away at his/her flesh much like Baal's Caress. (The user spends at least one bloodpoint, rolling Stamina + Athletics at diff 6 for the spitting attack, he/she may spit a distance of 10 feet for every dot he/she has in Strength and Potence. The attack deals 2 dices of Aggravated damage for every bloodpoint spend, and only generational limits limit the amount of bloodpoints the user may spend in a single attack).
- Blood Sympathy: The user's control over blood is now so great that he/she no longer has to apply his/her own blood to poison a victim, instead becoming able to poison a victim with his/her own blood. (The user must have his/her intended target in his/her line of sight and the victim must be no farther from the user then 20 feet for every point he/she has in Perception. Through this power, the user may apply Scorpion's Touch, Body Wrack and Crawling Death. The user spends a bloodpoint and rolls Perception + Empathy against a difficulty of the victim's Willpower. The number of successes the user gets on this roll must equal the level of the power he/she wishes to use, thusly the user cannot use Crawling Death if the scores scores only 2 successes on the Blood Sympathy roll, but can use Scorpion's Touch or Body Wrack. If the blood Sympathy roll is successful and meets the criteria, the user may spend blood and roll to activate the desired poison as normal, which will then effect the victim as though he/she had been normally poisoned. If the victim already has a point of blood from the user in his/her bloodstream for whatever reason, the user needs only one success on the Blood Sympathy roll in order to use any of the poison's on the victim, irrigardless of their level).
- Blood Essence: Extract the blood in a kindred's heart and transmute it into a thick concentrated substance, which may be used later, granting the effects of diablarie (alternative power).
