Protean

The signature discipline of clan Gangrel, Protean allows the user to physically transform his body, manifesting in powers such as growing wicked claws, transforming into animals or even merging with the earth. What exacly allows such transformations, wether the discipline draws on some connection to nature or wether it manifests the Beast in an outward manner is unknown.

Powers:

1 - Eyes of the Beast:
The user's eyes turn glowing red, and the user becomes completely able to see in darkness. (The user need only declare his desire to call forth the Eyes of the Beast, the transformation taking one turn. The user then becomes able to see in even the darkest areas. The glowing red eyes of the user are however quite disturbing to mortals, and the user gets +1 on the difficulty of Social rolls with mortals unless the user takes steps to shield his eyes, such as with sunglasses).

2 - Feral Claws:
The user's nails on both feet and hands grow into vicious claws, capable of rending flesh and steel alike with ease. (Costs a bloodpoint, transformation takes a single turn. The claws grow in respondance to the character's desire, capable of growing from both hands and feet. There are even rumours of vampires that have modified this power to instead turn their fangs into tusks. Attacks with the claws deal Aggr + 1 damage. In addition, all climbing difficulties are reduced by 2).

3 - Earth Meld:
The user merges with the earth below, shielding him/her from the sun and potential enemies while he/she rests peacefully during the day. (The user spends a bloodpoint and a turn merging with the earth. The user must be on soil to merge with, rock or other materials are uneffected by this power. Upon merging with the earth the user chooses how long he/she wishes to slumber. If the user ever senses danger, the user may roll Humanity at diff 6 to awaken prematurely. In this state between torpor and awakening, the user partially exist in both the material realm and the astral plane. In the material realm, any who attempt to dig for the user meet with incredibly hard packed soil, sporting a density akin to stone, while those that find the user in the astral plane merely find a form of spongey resistance where the user is located. However, because the user is not truly in either realm, any attempts to look for the user such as finding his/her scent or scanning for his/her aura are at +2 difficulty. If the user meets with violence directly on his form in either realm, the vampire returns to the physical realm in a burst of earth, causing all Perception rolls for the people nearby (including the user's) to be at +2 difficulty for one turn. The first turn the user is expelled from the earth he/she suffers a 2 point penalty on his/her initiative. After the first turn, he/she may act normally).

4 - Shape of the Beast:
The user transforms into animal form, allowing the user to flee a scene more easily, or put up a fight as a beast. (The transformation costs a bloodpoint and three turns. However, the user may choose to spend one bloodpoint extra to reduce the time of the transformation, up to a maximum of 3 bloodpoints with a transformation time of 1. Shape of the Beast comes with a "flight" and a "fight" form. For almost every single vampire, this is a bat for the "flight" form, and a wolf for the "fight" form. Gangrel however, may opt to choose different animal forms, but once chosen the Gangrel cannot change these forms. Once transformed, the user can remain in his/her animal form untill the next dawn, or untill the user voluntarily ends the transformation. Any clothing or items the user carried transform with the user. In animal form, the user can use any discipline exept Necromancy, Serpentis, Thaumaturgy or Vicissitude. The user also gains abilities related to the animal in which he/she transformed, for example, in the wolf "fight" form, the user's Teeth and claws deal Aggr +1 damage, the user can run at double speed and the difficulties for all Perception rolls are reduced by two. In the bat "flight" form, the user's Strength is reduced to 1, but the user can fly up to 20 miles per hour, all hearing-based Perception rolls have their difficulty reduced by 3 and all attacks made against the user are at +2 difficulty due to the user's small size. Should the user have choosen different animal forms, the user should discuss their bonusses with the Storyteller beforehand).

5 - Mist Form:
The user turns into a cloud of mist, capable of slipping through the smallest cracks while being immune to convential assault. (The user must spend a blood point and 3 turns to transform. The user may reduce the time needed to transform by spending extra bloodpoints, up to a maximum of 3 bloodpoints and one turn. The user may move his/her entire Mist Form around as he/she pleases, but strong winds may push the user around, the user can only use his/her Potence rating to resist the influence of wind. However, even hurricane strength winds cannot disperse the user. While in Mist Form, the user is immune to any form of physical damage, however, fire, sunlight and other supernatural attacks can still damage the user. Damage caused by fire and sunlight is however automatically reduced by one healthlevel. The user self cannot physically attack in the Mist Form, including other vampires that are also in Mist Form, but can use any discipline that does not require a physical form).
