Harbingers of
Skulls
A lesson the Giovanni learned when they killed the last of the Cappadocians, was that one does not simply kill the original clan of death. Though they managed to escape the prosecution of the Camarilla, their victims were not so forgiving. Hidden deep in the void for centuries, the Harbingers of Skulls are composed of 50 very ancient, and very angry Cappadocians who watched from the wake of death as their brothers and sisters were slaughtered one by one. During the last great event to shake the spirit world, they escaped and assumed new bodies, becoming the Harbingers of Skulls. Now aligned with the Sabbat, the Harbingers of Skulls seek vengeance on the Camarilla that sold them out, but even more so on the Giovanni that destroyed them. Disciplines: Auspex, Fortitude, Necromancy (they practise the Path of Mortuus necromancy, which is different from both Cappadocian Mortis and Giovanni Necromancy) Nickname: Lazarenes |
N/A During the dark ages, the Harbingers were still locked inside the void.
Modern Days
Using the Sabbat more as a tool then as a ally, the Harbingers assault both the Camarilla and Giovanni at every possible turn. As all Harbingers are ancient vampires with great mastery over death, they are easily capable of avoiding capture or final death at the hands of either of their enemies, while they continue to strike blow after blow. As equally as the Giovanni did not stop with their merciless butchering of the Cappadocians, neither will the Harbingers of Skulls stop with their bloody vendetta.
Embraces
As to date, not one of the Harbingers has embraced a childe. For what reasons are unknown, but perhaps it is simply all part of their plan for revenge, or maybe an attempt to prevent history repeating itself once more, with childe turning on sire.
Havens
Like the Cappadocians, the Harbingers mainly chose graveyards or other secluded places of death as havens, where they can ply their trade in peace.
As a clan
Most harbingers stick to themselves, they prefer solitude when performing their research. However, they gather infrequently as a clan to perform strange rituals among other things. Masks play an important role, and some observers claim that the more elaborate the mask, the greater the power of it’s owner. This is just speculation however, none know the secrets of the Harbingers but they themselves. As for their primary business, they support the Sabbat by fighting the Camarilla, but make an especial point of hunting the Giovanni at every turn.
Strength
Besides the fact that each of the Harbingers is of quite a significant generation, they make use of their form of Necromancy, a evolution of the Cappadocian discipline of Mortis. The Harbinger version specializes in dealing with the state of undeath.
Weakness
The Harbingers of skulls inherited a deathly pallor from their ancestors, the Cappadocians. However, this weakness has developed beyond simply a pale skin, for the Harbingers of Skulls did not earn their name lightly. Upon their creation, their skin grew tight around their bones, giving the Harbingers an almost skeletal appearance as nothing but muscle fills up the space between bone and skin. Because of this weakness and their rituals of necromancy, many harbingers wear robes and masks.
